COP30 in Practice: The Itanhém Project Restoring the Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil.

As the world prepares for COP30 in Belém, Brazil, the urgency to turn global climate commitments into tangible action has never been greater. Forest Landscape Restoration (FLR) offers one of the most powerful pathways to address the interconnected challenges of biodiversity loss, climate change, and community resilience.

iNovaland has established a track record as an experienced actor in FLR, with successful high integrity projects in Ghana and Brazil demonstrating the ability to deliver ecological recovery, carbon credit generation, and community benefits at scale. Building on this experience, iNovaland and its partners are launching the Itanhém River Forest Landscape Restoration Project in Brazil’s Atlantic Rainforest, one of the most threatened biodiversity hotspots in the world.

This webinar will present the project as a model of practice ahead of COP30, highlighting its ecological, social, and financial impact while positioning forest restoration as a vital climate solution and sustainable investment opportunity.

The Itanhém River Forest Landscape Restoration Project directly contributes to COP30 priorities by:

  • Forests, Oceans & Biodiversity – advancing inclusive landscape level forest restoration in one of the world’s most threatened ecosystems, the Atlantic Rainforest.
  • Finance & Investment – offering high-integrity investment opportunities for biodiversity and climate mitigation.
  • Human & Social Development – engaging local communities and partners, landowners and farmers, in locally grounded climate action.
  • Presenting iNovaland’s capacity to deliver landscape level high integrity forest restoration in Africa and Latin America.
  • Showcase innovation in Brazil’s Atlantic Rainforest through the Itanhém River Forest Landscape Restoration Project, linking local action to global climate goals.
  • Highlight impact-driven investment opportunities that unite biodiversity recovery, carbon credit generation, and social impact.
  • Advance COP30 priorities by promoting forest protection, equitable climate finance, and community-centered approaches to climate action.

Alongside Luís Silva, CEO at iNovaland and Márcio Braga, iNovaland Brasil Director, who will guide us through the company’s track record and the Itánhem Project, we’ll be joined by long-standing partners and new allies in this exciting Atlantic Forest restoration initiative.
